Second opinion

When investing your money, you hope and expect that you will get a good return on investment without incurring too much risk. In addition, you expect to be properly assisted by your asset management consultant in managing your assets. Occasionally, however, you may wonder whether you are “getting your money’s worth” and whether your portfolio is fully tailored to your needs and personal situation.

In that case, you may choose to have your capital, including your stock portfolio, savings and other assets, analysed by a specialist. This ensures a fresh perspective, while any imbalances are identified. We refer to this as a Second Opinion.

The Second Opinion consists of:
  • Reviewing and analysing the distribution of shares, bonds, savings and real estate – this is known as the ‘asset allocation’;
  • Reviewing bonds and savings for their terms, interest rate/effective return, risk of default and diversification;
  • Reviewing shares for distribution across industry segments, i.e. is there a balanced distribution across the sectors, and the interrelationship between these sectors;
  • Reviewing whether your capital is tailored to your personal situation;
