General informationUS Tax AdviceWe offer US tax advice and tax returns for individuals with US filing obligations. The United States “worldwide” income tax concept The United States is one of the few countries in the world that imposes a tax based on citizenship rather than residence. This means that US citizen and greencard holders living in the Netherlands have tax filing obligations in (at least) two countries. This doesn’t mean you owe tax in both countries, but it does make it more complicated as you determine which country has the right to tax various types of income. In fact, when done correctly, your worldwide income tax can sometimes be much lower than it would be if all of your income was taxed in either country. The integrated approach Since Finsens offers both US and Dutch tax services, we can make sure that your tax returns and advice are coordinated across both tax systems. You will have one point of contact who understands your unique situation. Our approach is based on over 14 years of experience dealing with these two systems.
